Time to go to IKEA!

This Ikea-Style Home Can Be Built Using Nothing But A Screwdriver!

PopUp House, a French design studio has created the world’s first— well— popup house. Requiring zero power tools or heavy machinery, the little domain can be made from insulation blocks, treated lumber, and wood screws. Best of all, it looks hell of dope, for lack of a better term.

The materials making up the frame cost about 300€-360€ (that’s approx. $442 – $531) per square meter of floor area. A turn-key house ends up costing you 1300€- 2000€ (that’s approx. $1,918- $2,951) per square meter, but the option to finish it yourself would cut your cost to about half that.

The whole frame can be put together in just one week, using just a screwdriver. If you’re itching to call one of these beautiful homes yours, you’re out of luck (unless you live in France). The company does plan on expanding to the UK and US in the near future, although details concerning a timeline are not forthcoming.

Time to practice by putting together some Ikea furniture. Happy Building!
